I love listening to Marco’s interviews. The sportscasters are asking him questions with words I don’t even know. Guys – English is not his first language.
Great win last night, but I want to start by saying that I’ve got a new attitude.
I decided after the Spurs loss that I wasn’t going to get my knickers in a knot about these games any more.
How’s that working out for you?
Ha, well, it’s easier said than done.
Now I’m not talking about giving up, raising the white flag or calling it a day. But let’s be realistic – as long as the Bulls MAKE the playoffs, that’s all that matters.
Correction. As long as the Bulls make the playoffs, and are NOT the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference, that’s all that matters. You know what happens if you’re the 8th seed…
So they continue to hang around with their fellow Net, Celtic and Hawk compatriots in the 4 through 7 spots. It’s getting crowed in there…
The Jazz game last night, now you would have thought it wouldn’t be all that tough.
Silly me. Another grind it out game. Marco B. (Belinelli) with his third game-winner in two months (as pointed out by Sam Smith in his blog http://blogs.bulls.com/2013/03/belinelli-with-another-ho-hum-game-winner/).
Here is Sam’s assessment (note: he’s my idol):
When LeBron James made a game winning driving basket against the Orlando Magic Wednesday, his first game winning shot in two and a half years with the Miami Heat, ESPN devoted much of its SportsCenter highlight show to the milestone. There’s also believed to be a 30 for 30 documentary about the shot coming and reaction being sought from Bill Russell and President Obama.
On Friday, Bulls shooting guard Marco Belinelli made his third game winning shot in the last two months, a three pointer with 5.9 seconds left to defeat the Utah Jazz 89-88. ESPN research is believed to be working on finding out who Belinelli is.
OK, we’re back to Bulls Banter now.
Will the fact that the Bulls defeated the Jazz, who are just a half game ahead of the Lakers, and hanging onto the 8th spot in the Western Conference make them go any easier on our Bullys this Sunday? We all know the answer to that one.
And don’t worry – the game was originally scheduled for ABC, but that’s when the League thought Mr. Rose would be back, so now, you can likely catch the game, well, nowhere I guess. Maybe ESPN will show the score, but you can expect the opposite of Heat-like coverage.
Wait, I stand corrected. The Bulls are playing the Lakers. Right, the other team, other than the Heat which garners the most coverage, but in this case, for being dysfunctional.
So back to the original plan – tune in to ABC on Sunday to see our Bulls defeat Kobe and company. (She says trying to speak it into existence).
I just watched an interview with Nazr Mohammed, and I love this guy. Another class act. He played 20 minutes vs. the Jazz, got 9 points and some rebounds and really had an impact. Talk about a great attitude (and he’s kinda funny too.) To watch the video, go to http://www.nba.com/bulls/ and look for the “Inside the Locker Room” videos.
No Kirk. No Rip. No Taj. No Rose. Who? That guy doesn’t get any press…
So just hoping for a good showing on ABC Sunday, since it looks like the League will not sub in another game.
Then, hoping the Bulls can survive the next game without me (watching), as it’s a 9 p.m. CDT start on a school night this Wednesday vs. the Kings. Zzzzz. That’s me snoring in my cozy bed.
Gotta head to the gym for basketball practice, because with these guys falling one by one, you know I’m going to get the call any day now. It’s my new attitude!
